PaperCraft Studio Complete

It has been a project that I've wanted to do for a while (and after being fed up with my kitchen and laundry room being a make-shift work area and storage) it is now a reality. In our home we have an upstairs that is off of the kitchen that was used as a catch-all for 30 years that would make a perfect studio for my papercrafting - so with a lot of help from my husband and family we have remodeled the area to be just that! To get a full sense of what it was and where I am sitting today, I'll share a few photos.

This was the area in my kitchen that I used for my projects. I also used my kitchen table for laying out the projects which was a wonderful work space, just not real efficient when it came time to eat any meals.

This was my storage space in my laundry room for all my stamp sets, paper and embellishments - YIKES! Although it worked for a time, I really got frustrated every time I needed to do the laundry or get into the other area of the room.

It worked while we made the remodel project a reality!

On August 9th the dumpster arrived to clean out the 30 years of stuff and start demolition!

How much stuff can accumulate in 30 years? Well there was a lot of stuff! The area had 3 rooms with the larger room being right off the stairs.

With everything cleaned out, we started demo and I decided that it would be better as one big room. So down came the walls and up went the support beams for the ceiling.
Sheet rocking with Bobby's boys Ben and Cody along with my Dad and Nick.

Mudding/Paint, ready to spray!

Add the laminate floor and light fixtures! We are ready for shelving and furniture. Ready to see the end result? Here it is!

Hard to believe that I'm sitting at my desk in the corner of this beautiful room sharing this with you! I'm really excited to be ready to use the space to create and play with all the great new products CTMH just released! On with the adventure! Be good to yourselves and I'll post some of the projects soon. Dani

Card Making with Friends

Super fun afternoon making cards and sharing some laughs! Jayme found some fun designs online and so we played, created and here are some of the results!

Using CTMH new Hooligans paper and stamp set we made a "spring-up" card which is really fun to play with and turned out really cute!

Here is a look from the side.

Then, there was a search for a fancy folded card and we found this pattern...WOW! I used CTMH Cherry-O paper with Cherry-O Opaques and the You're Sweet Stamp set.

This is what the card looks like opened up, this one is a definitely a keeper to make again and again - it is a super cute design! I'm looking forward to working with more of the CTMH paper to make more of these!

Next, Jayme found this WAY FUN folded purse card! We used CTMH Topstitch paper, soft suede pinwheel accent and ribbon from the Heavenly Blue collection. Neat idea for all those purse lovers out there, CUTE!

I love the new Olivia paper from CTMH (OK, so I love them all - that's why I do what I do) - anyway, here I used a simple fold to create a fun pocket to add leaves and give the card extra dimension. I  used the stamp set Autumn Splendor. I added a little hemp to tie the folds together and secured with a little adhesive.

And I just can't seem to put August Stamp of the Month away - Something Splendid. We used CTMH Topiary, Honey and Desert Sand paper to make this card with some chocolate ribbon to finish it off. What would it look like as a horizontal?

Jayme thought the same thing and did her design with that in mind :) She also added a little stamping to her envelope too! SUPER CUTE.
Thanks for a really fun afternoon of making cards! Let's do it again really soon. Hope you all enjoy the designs as well! Have a blessed day and keep crafting!
